Inaugural post- welcome aboard!

First, there was NOTHING.

Then, it EXPLODED.

And then, there was a PARTY.


... essentially, the Big Bang has just come to pass, and there is already a place with a dance floor and music and a number of roving robotic waiters, and complicated mazes of pipes and bars overhead for flying and arboreal daemons to perch on, and an area with a swimming pool lit by multicolored pulsating lights for those with aquatic daemons, and... well, you get the idea. Welcome to the beginning of everything. Everyone and his/her/its daemon is welcome so long as they behave themselves. Enjoy!

"If I'm creeping out somebody I know, I find out what I'm doing that creeps them out, and then I stop. Because that's who I am. Your call, buddy."

"What am I doing that's creepy?"

"You were, like..." He tries to describe it and fails utterly, lifting his hands in a helpless shrug.

"Acting like a manic little Gandalf," Harpax cuts in. "You're not exactly the most reassuring sight in the world to somebody who's already wondering if the time travel spell that shot them all the way to the Big Bang went a little wrong."

He thinks about that for a moment before frowning. "I would think an experience time traveler would be reassuring to a novice one."

"Nnnnot necessarily," says Tony, striving for diplomacy.

Huh.

He gives a short bow, nearly toppling his daemon off his shoulder. The phoenix changes into a kitten and clings tightly making a hissing noise of distaste.

"My apologies."

"...It's okay," says Tony, as Harpax hides a beaky smirk by preening his hair.

Alec gets a swipe on the ear with a growled "idiot" from Alyth. She then settles back on his shoulder and starts grooming herself.

"What was the spell you used?"

"Technically it wasn't me using it; it was Jarvis. You'd have to ask her the details," he says with a shrug. "I'm only a wizard in the techie sense. But I doubt she'll be showing up around here."

On account of she is a house.

Personally, Alec wouldn't be surprised if the house showed up here. Why not, after all?

"I've never heard of it being called in the techie sense before."

"...Like, you've never heard of a computer wizard, or you've never heard somebody say 'in the techie sense', or...?"

"You're a computer wizard in the non-magical sense? Really good with computers."

[toblameforit]

"Ye-es," he says, in a very not-the-whole-story tone. "Among other things."

And Alec rolls his eyes. "You are good at using computers in a non-magical sense and you're good with using computers in a magical sense. Probably using them to create magical programs or something like that?"

"No, I'm good at using computers and building computers and all kinds of engineering shit and nuclear physics. In a non-magical sense."

"No magical abilities whatsoever?"

[toblameforit]

"Nope," he confirms. Harpax bobs her head in agreement.

"Okay then! Got it," he nodded.
